World Mental Health Day@St John's Tuesday 10th October 2023

Today is 'World Mental Health Day' and all St John's children and staff have got involved...

We started the day with a special 'World Mental Health Day' assembly this morning about mental health and how important it is to talk to a trusted adult if we need help and support.

As part of World Mental Health Day our Well-Being Warriors went to the Winter Gardens to take part in a 'Well-Being Conference'.

There were lots of stands and activities for the children to visit and take part in which helped them to learn more about Mental Health.

We also bumped into a few familiar faces:

Dave Blacker who is one of our governors, Martin from Active Blackpool, Helen from CAHMS and Faye our Resilience Coach.

The children also took part in activities with Blackpool FC Community Trust and were all given a book from the National Literacy Trust.

At 10am this morning all St John's classes stopped for 10 mins to read:

Take 10 to read

Life is busy and it isn’t always easy to find time for yourself. Reading can help you relax, boost your mood and escape elsewhere – and it doesn’t have to be reading a book. This month we are encouraging people to escape the everyday by reading something that interests them for 10 minutes. It could be the post-match analysis of Saturday’s football game, an interview with your favourite actor, DIY hacks or even recipes.

We’re calling the nation to pause for 10 minutes on Tuesday 10 October at 10am to #Take10toRead with us in support of World Health Mental Day.
