ST JOHN'S VISION, VALUES & WORSHIP
Blackpool St John’s is a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School with its ethos and teaching founded on Christian values and the belief that individuals are created by God and precious in His sight and that “Everyone Matters in God’s World”.
Our central concern is the education of the whole child. This stems from the Christian belief that all people are made in God’s image so all are equally worthy of care and all have a valuable contribution to make to the school and wider community.
Our school is committed to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential through an exciting and innovative curriculum and high quality teaching and learning. We aim to provide the perfect conditions for learning as we believe that how children learn is as important as what they learn. We use highly developed assessment procedures which takes into account every individual child along with an enriched curriculum which includes outdoor learning experiences and the development of emotional competencies.
Our specialised curriculum develops a child’s curiosity and knowledge of the local community, the world and the natural environment through the National Curriculum. We aim to foster this curiosity through our vision of being a school community where enquiry skills are well developed and we believe in forging strong partnerships.
Our vision statement is simply
“Everyone Matters in God's World”
and we all follow THE GOLDEN RULE "Do to others what you would have them do to you" (Matthew 7:12)

Class 2 Christmas Journey Workshop with BSYW
The team from BSYW came into school to do an interactive Christmas Journey Workshop with Class 2.
We enjoyed dressing up, sharing bread, acting out and learning about the true meaning of Christmas.
DIWALI IN CLASS 3
Class 3 researched rangoli patterns and found out some more about the Hindu festival of Diwali. The children then used chalk to draw their own rangoli patterns to welcome their grown ups into school.
CLASS 2 IMAM VISITOR FROM BLACKPOOL MOSQUE
The Imam from the Blackpool Mosque visited usin Year 2. He talked to us about the Qur'an, the Mosque, prayer mats and he showed us how to write our name in Arabic.
Class 2 Sponsored Walk for The Bible Society
In the year 1800 Mary Jones, walked 26 miles, barefoot across rugged mountains, simply to buy a Bible. This inspired the formation of The Bible Society – committed to faithfully living out the belief that the Bible should be made available for every man, woman and child in the world.
We are very pleased to announce Class 2 walked 26 laps around our middle deck playground for our sponsored walk and raised an amazing £475 for The Bible Society!
A huge thank you to our Class 2 parents and families for your sponsors and support with this.

Class 1 Synagogue Visit-October 2024
Today we visited the synagogue, we learnt about aspects of the Jewish faith that were different to our own. We looked for symbols in the Synagogue and were able to see up close the Torah and the Ark. We talked about the Jewish Harvest festival called 'Sukkot' and compared it to our own celebrations.
