Dear Parents,

On Monday 17th July, Year 5 will be visiting the Museum of Lancashire to experience World War 2: life on the home front as part of this terms topic.  The children will do their part to help the war effort! Through object handling, local history active participation, role play and discovery, pupils will be brought closer to the home front than ever before.  Pupils will meet the ARP warden and government official, as they give detailed accounts of life on the home front and teach pupils all they will need to know to ‘do their bit’.

Children must be in school on time as the mini-buses will be leaving promptly at 9.00am; we will return to school for normal home time.  If your child suffers from travel sickness, please could you send in a named envelope a tablet for the return journey. Uniform must be worn.

Packed lunches will be provided by the school kitchen for children entitled to free school meals only, all other pupils will need to bring their own packed lunch, in a named plastic bag so all rubbish can be disposed of.

We are asking for a donation of £4.00 towards the cost of the workshop.

Please could you return the slip to school by Friday 14th July.

If you have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me in school.

Many thanks,

  Miss Rushworth

Y5 Class Teacher.
