Year 6 Sat’s Week Information
Sat’s Week: Week beginning 12th May
Special arrangements
We are able to make special arrangements for some pupils according to their need. Occasionally, where additional time, reading support or a scribe is usual classroom practice, the school can apply for access arrangements to be made. Some of the children will be completing the tests 1:1 or in a smaller group.
Equipment
The school provides all equipment that the children need for each test.
Reporting to parents
You will receive results for your child in English reading, grammar, spelling and punctuation and maths in your child’s end of year report.
There is no test for English writing; this will be reported using teacher assessment.
How has the school helped to prepare the children?
*Through targeted, highly effective teaching.
*By practising key skills which have prepared the children for the process of the tests
*By using revision materials-booklets, test questions, CGP revision guides and practice papers.
*Through class lessons, making sure the children have covered all of the areas tested.
*Through interventions e.g Success@arithmetic
How can I help my child?
*Don’t panic! The children are very well prepared and ready to take the tests.
*Ensure your child has early nights throughout the week and a ‘normal’ routine.
*Ensure your child is at school at 8.15am each test day; we will be starting the tests at 8.30am.
If you have any questions or concerns please come and speak to me in school.
Many thanks,
Miss Johnston
