Welcome to Class 6

Class 6's teachers are Mr Corser and Miss Johnston. Mr Corser is the Class 6 teacher and Miss Johnston will teach in Class 6 in the mornings for English and Maths lessons and all day on a Monday.

Reading Books

Please bring your reading book to school every day. Class 6 pupils are responsible for changing their own reading book and recording this in the class reading file. Don't forget to read at home (at least 3 times a week) and write comments and sign your own reading record. You can also ask an adult at home to listen to you read. Even if you haven't had time to read at home, please send the book into school as we might get chance to read with your child in school.

If the reading book is not seen in a week a text will be sent home as a reminder.

P.E Lessons

PE is on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon this half-term. Please make sure your named kit is in school for those days. Kit is blue/black shorts, a white t-shirt and pumps.

Don't forget to take earrings out or cover with plasters on PE days.

Mondays we will be practising  our 'School's Alive' routine and Tuesdays Mr Corser will be focusing on SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) activities.

Home Learning

Children will be given Maths pages to complete in their Maths CGP Homework books. Mr Corser/Miss Johnston will set pages from the CGP book depending on what has been taught in maths that week in the different groups. Pages are set on a Friday and CGP books must be in school the following Wednesday because we mark the homework together as a group.

Independent reading is also part of home learning (at least 3 times a week) and completing sessions on Spelling shed, TT Rockstars and RM Easimaths. All of these sites can be accessed at home. If you need your username or password please speak to Miss Johnston.

Class 6 children can also complete independent research about our current curriculum topic as part of their home learning. This half-term we are finding out about the 'Human Body' and the effects on the human body from smoking, drinking alcohol or taking drugs. We will also be finding out about the importance of healthy diets and exercise. Class 6 children could also visit the local Blackpool library as part of their independent research.

Thank you.
