Hello!
Hope everyone is well and taking care of themselves. Don’t forget to check Tapestry as Mrs Johnson is keeping it up to date with challenges and news.
Keep going over your flashcard sounds and see if you can also write them correctly if your grown up says the sound to you. Do exactly the same with your key words too.
Phonic Bug is updated for you to play phonic games and read your reading books.
Phonics play on line has some great free games for you to play. The children should be able to play the games in phase 2 and if they are in my phonic group they can try some games in phase 3!
Don’t forget to read lots of beautiful stories with your grown up too as these are so very important. CBeebies bedtime stories are great just before bed, but a story can be shared anytime. Try retelling a story in your own words e.g. a traditional tale would be a great start - Goldilocks or The Three Little Pigs
Keep practising counting to 20 forward and backwards. Use your number cards in your pack to say the number names and place them in order. If you can order forwards try ordering from 20 back to 1. Can you count back from 20?
Topmarks is great for number games online and you need to look on the Early Years section
Keep in touch

Hello Reception!! How are you all? Isn't it great that we can all keep in touch on the blogs.
What have you all been doing? Has anyone drawn any rainbows? My children have drawn a big one in chalk on the front of the house, it looks lovely and colourful. It makes me smile every time I see it!
We also have a Teddy bear looking out of the window, I hear young children are looking out for them. Have you been doing this?
For my lego club children why don't you tell someone in your family the story of Jack and the Beanstalk or Billy Goat Gruff, maybe you could draw some pictures too?
Anyway, miss you all and I look forward to hearing from you soon xx

Lovely to hear from you Mrs Tiribocchi! You have been busy at home with rainbows and teddy bears!
Hey Alicia, lovely to hear from you too! I am so pleased you are continuing with the good work you started before we finished. You were working hard on those letter sounds and words and we could really see the work was paying off. I’m so proud of you! Have you been on phonic bug yet? If you need any details to log in I can help you out if you contact me on Tapestry. I can’t wait to see what you have been doing at home.
I know lots of children on Tapestry have either been painting rainbows or going out counting how many they can see on their daily walk.
Missing you all and remember to check in with us on here or on the Talestry page where we have been busy adding ideas for you.
Take care everyone

Remember the section you are looking for is Early Years
Hope these prove useful and remember to pop over to Tapestry for more practical ideas!
Enjoy the sunshine today and maybe take some learning outside! Buckets of water and a brush are great for writing our letters on the path and watching them disappear. This leads on to a discussion with your child about why this happens.
Take care

Keep us posted on how you are doing either on here or Tapestry.

Wow, this is our 9th week of Lockdown!!! Considering we haven't been doing very much I think the time has passed quickly, do you? I am at school today, it feels really strange without you guys here, I can't wait to see you all again. Have you been on BBC bitesize? I think its awesome, my son uses it a lot and I must confess i've been polishing up on my SPAG and maths! My son has had to do World War 2 project and as part of it we had a VE Day party and made some scarecrows to sit in the garden, they made people laugh who were walking past and we got on the local News on TV too which was incredibly exciting!! We are still writing our diary and saving keepsakes of Lockdown to remember this surreal time. You are all going to receive a letter from your teachers soon , maybe you'll keep it as a momento? Well I had better get on with my work, hope you are all well and happy and I very much look forward to seeing you soon. In the meantime keep safe and carry on being kind to everyone and yourselves. xx
